All our courses and activities are free for families with a child under 5 years old or who are expecting a new baby.

Mondays:

  • Parent and Toddler Group, Owlerbrook Children's Centre, Owlerbrook School, Wensley Street, 9-11am. Term-time only. Relax, enjoy fun activities with your kids and meet other parents!

  • Family Learning: Talking Together, Burngreave Children's Centre, 19 Spital Street, 9.30-11.30am. From 9th January to 6th February 2012. 5 week course looking at how to encourage your children to develop their speaking and listening skills. Free crèche places available. To book a place please contact reception on 252 5220.

  • Baby Massage, Burngreave Children's Centre, 11.30am-12.30pm. Baby massage can relax your child, reduce crying, help bonding and encourage better sleep patterns! Baby Massage is now a drop-in - please arrive at 11.30 prompt. If you arrive after the room is full you will need to wait or come back at 12.30..Mums and dads both welcome.

  • Breastfeeding Support drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 12.30-1.30pm. Get support and advice around breastfeeding from our breastfeeding support worker. Please contact Jenny on 252 5220 if you want to talk to or meet a breastfeeding support worker at a different time.

  • Weston Park trip, Weston Park Museum, Western Bank, 1-3pm. On Monday 13th February. Half-term trip to Weston Park museum - meet us at the museum at 1pm or at Burngreave Children's Centre at 12.30pm to travel down together (families will need to pay for their own bus fares).

  • Parent and Toddler Group, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1-3pm. Term-time only. Relax, enjoy fun activities with your kids and meet other parents - dads and mums both welcome!

Tuesdays:

  • Parent and Toddler Group, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9.30-11am. Term-time only. Relax, enjoy fun activities with your kids and meet other parents - dads and mums both welcome!

  • C.A.B. (Citizens' Advice Bureau) sessions, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9.30am-12pm. Drop-in from 9.30am-12pm to see an advice worker. Access help and info on a wide range of issues e.g. housing, benefits, debt, disability, consumer issues, immigration etc.

  • Ready Steady Go, Watoto Nursery, 139 Catherine Road, S4 7HJ, 1-3pm. Parent and Toddler group for children with additional needs (term-time only).

  • Pitsmoor Surgery Antenatal Clinic, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1-4pm. Antenatal appointments with a midwife.

Wednesdays:

  • One Stop Shop - Family Support drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9am-12.30pm. Local families can drop-in and discuss any concerns around their children with a worker from our Family Support team, and get more information about our services.

  • One Stop Shop - Burngreave Community Clinic, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9.30am-12.30pm and 1.20-3.30pm. Antenatal and postnatal drop-in - come and see a midwife.

  • One Stop Shop - Health Visitor drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 10-11.30am. Drop in and see a Health Visitor between 10 and 11.30am.

  • One Stop Shop - Speech and Language drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9.30-11.30am. On the second Wednesday of the month - drop-in and see a speech and language therapist if you have any concerns about your child's speech or if you want to know more about children's talking.

  • One Stop Shop - Sheffield Information Link drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 10am-12pm, 4th Wednesday of the month. Drop-in and see an SIL worker and get advice and information about areas such as childcare/nursery places, activities for children, education, careers in childcare/early years etc.

  • Parent and Toddler Group, Owlerbrook Children's Centre, Owlerbrook School, 1-3pm. Term-time only.

Thursdays:

  • Family Support drop-in, Owlerbrook Children's Centre, 9am-12.30pm. Local families can drop-in and discuss any concerns around their children with a worker from our Family Support team, and get more information about our services.

  • Antenatal Clinic, Owlerbrook Children's Centre, 9am-12pm and 1-4pm. Antenatal appointments with a midwife.

  • Fir Vale Community Clinic/One Stop Shop, Owlerbrook Children's Centre,  9.30-11am. Get support in a confidential and friendly way from a Health Visitor, Breastfeeding Support and Parent Outreach also available.

  • Sheffield Information Link drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9.30-11am, 1st Thursday of the month. Drop-in and see an SIL worker and get advice and information about areas such as childcare/nursery places, activities for children, education, careers in childcare/early years etc.

  • Positive Parenting course, Owlerbrook Children's Centre, 1-3pm. Next course starting April 2012 (to be confirmed). Learn how to bring out the best in your child by listening and understanding, praising and encouraging their efforts! Limited crèche places available.

  • Postnatal clinic, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1-4pm. Postnatal appointments clinic with a midwife.

Fridays:

  • Postnatal Clinic, Owlerbrook Children's Centre, 9am-12pm. Postnatal appointments with a midwife.

  • Healthy Living with Diabetes, Burngreave Children's Centre, 12.30-2.30pm. From 13th January to 17th February. 2 hour weekly sessions featuring cooking, learning, exercise and socialising! The course will be delivered by a qualified tutor of nutrition & physical activity, along with a Health trainer providing one to one support with personal health goals and signposting. Crèche and refreshments provided.
