All our courses and activities are free for families with a child under 5 years old or who are expecting a new baby.

Mondays:

  • Baby Massage, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1-2pm. Restarting in late September - please contact Jenny on 252 5220 to book a place as baby massage will now take place in six week blocks. Baby massage can relax your child, reduce crying, help bonding and encourage better sleep patterns! Mums and dads both welcome.

  • Parent and Toddler Group, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1.30-3.30pm. Term-time only. Relax, enjoy fun activities with your kids and meet other parents - dads and mums both welcome! Featuring a den making session on 22nd March.

Tuesdays:

  • C.A.B. (Citizens' Advice Bureau) sessions, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9.30am-12pm. Has now restarted. Two appointment slots at 9.30 and 10am, then a drop-in from 10.30am-12pm. Access help and info on a wide range of issues e.g. housing, benefits, debt, disability, consumer issues, immigration etc.

  • Postnatal Clinic, Burngreave Children's Centre, mornings tbc. Start date to be confirmed. Postnatal clinic with a midwife.

  • Antenatal Clinic, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1-4pm. From 23rd March. Antenatal appointments with a midwife.

  • Positive Parenting course, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1-3pm. From 19th January to 23rd March 2010. Learn how to bring out the best in your child by listening and understanding, praising and encouraging their efforts! Limited crèche places available. Limited crèche places available.

Wednesdays:

  • One Stop Shop - Family Support drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9am-12.30pm. Local families can drop-in and discuss any concerns around their children with a worker from our Family Support team, and get more information about our services.

  • One Stop Shop - Baby Cafe (drop-in), Burngreave Children's Centre, 9.30am-12.30pm

  • One Stop Shop - Burngreave Community Clinic, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9.30am-12.30pm and 1.20-3.30pm. Antenatal and postnatal drop-in - come and see a midwife! Health Visitor also available from 10-11.30am.

  • One Stop Shop - Sheffield Information Link drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 10am-12pm, 4th Wednesday of the month. Drop-in and see an SIL worker and get advice and information about areas such as childcare/nursery places, activities for children, education, careers in childcare/early years etc.

  • One Stop Shop - Advocacy Sessions, Burngreave Children's Centre, 10am-12pm. An advocacy worker from Sheffield PCT will be available on a drop-in basis (bookable appointments also available), who can help parents with issues around housing, debt, benefits, asylum status etc.

  • One Stop Shop - Smoking Cessation drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 10am-12pm, 1st Wednesday of the month (appointments are available in between - please contact the Centre). Get help and advice around stopping smoking from a trained professional.

  • Mums and Toddler Group, Owlerbrook Children's Centre, Owlerbrook School, 1-3pm. Term-time only.

  • Fir Vale Community Clinic/One Stop Shop, Owlerbrook Children's Centre,  9.30-11am. Get support in a confidential and friendly way from a Health Visitor, Breastfeeding Support and Parent Outreach also available.

Learn how to bring out the best in your child by listening and understanding, praising and encouraging their efforts! Limited crèche places available. Limited crèche places available.

  • Families Love Books, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1-3pm. From 22nd April to 20th May. Learn how to get the most out of sharing books with your children (from birth up to 3 years old), and learn more about nursery rhymes and songs. 9 places for parents are available - please book on 252 5220. You take your children in with you so there's no separate crèche.

  • Count Me In, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1-3pm. From 10th June to 8th July. Following on from the Families Love Books course above, fun ways for your children (from birth up to 3 years old) to learn about numbers - includes making a number sack. Identifies opportunities for developing maths understanding with very young children through books, rhymes and songs. 9 places for parents are available - please book on 252 5220. You take your children in with you so there's no separate crèche.

  • Slovak drop-in workshops, Owlerbrook Children's Centre, 1-3pm. From 8th April. Rolling programme of workshops for parents and children from the Slovak community looking at activities that parents can do with children e.g. playdough, treasure boxes, and also at healthy eating.

  • Postnatal drop-in clinic, Burngreave Children's Centre, 1-4pm. Start date to be confirmed. Postnatal drop-in clinic with a midwife.

Fridays:

  • Parenting drop-in, Burngreave Children's Centre, 9.30-11.30am. From 7th May. Rolling programme of workshops for parents and children looking at activities that parents can do with children e.g. playdough, treasure boxes, and also at healthy eating.

Learn how to bring out the best in your child by listening and understanding, praising and encouraging their efforts! Limited crèche places available. Limited crèche places available.
